Many pet owners are terrified by the thought of their pet undergoing anesthesia. In some cases, this fear and uncertainty can prevent pets from receiving the medical care they need and deserve. Rest assured that your pet will receive safe, comprehensive, advanced anesthesia care from our staff of caring professionals. From major and minor surgeries to diagnostic procedures, we can meet your pet’s anesthetic needs.
There is nothing more important to us than your pet’s safety, so we perform a variety of pre-anesthetic tests to carefully screen patients and tailor our anesthetic protocol specifically for your pet. Our Certified Veterinary Technicians and doctors monitor your pet before, during, and after anesthesia to help ensure the best possible outcome. We also take time to answer any questions or address any concerns you may have about the medications, monitoring, and care your pet will receive. When you trust our dedicated health care professionals to manage your pet’s anesthetic care, you can rest assured that safety, efficacy, and comfort are always foremost in our minds.
We offer the most advanced surgical techniques and technology. Surgical services and facilities include: fully trained veterinary and technical staff, to ensure the safest, most efficient, state-of-the-art procedures for your pet; heated surgery tables for greater comfort; advanced sterilization techniques; ECG and oxygen saturation monitors; intensive after surgery care and full blood testing.
We offer laparoscopic spays! When performing a laparoscopic spay, the procedure is done through two tiny incisions in the abdomen, typically 3/16” in size. The procedure is performed with magnified views of the organs, allowing for greater precision. The ovarian ligament is carefully cut and cauterized, rather than torn. Laparoscopic spays offer patients up to 65% less pain, minimal recovery time, and less trauma than traditional spays. This procedure is safer, has a faster healing time, and is less painful. In cases of larger breed, deep chested dogs, gastropexy can be performed at the time of the laparoscopic spay to prevent life-threatening gastric torsion (bloat).
LVVS offers complete dental cleanings as well; what we call oral assessment, treatment, and prophylaxis (prevention). Under anesthesia, we fully assess your pet’s teeth using digital dental x-rays, complete a full teeth cleaning and remove any problematic teeth. A veterinarian and Certified Technician are with your pet at all times.
LVVS offers great diagnostic capability, with digital x-rays and ultrasound, a comprehensive in-house laboratory, and relationships with outside labs for specialized testing.

Boarding is available on a limited basis as we are a veterinary hospital first and priority for kenneling is given to our patients. Our around-the-clock staffing means your pets are never alone.
Cats are roomed in our sunny cat room. Extra large kennels as well as a multi-level cat condo are available for an extra charge and on a first reserved, first served basis.
Cats who board must to be up-to-date on FVRCP and Rabies vaccinations. All boarders receive a flea check on admission and are treated with a flea adulticide if needed.
We serve a prescription diet to our boarders, designed to be easy to digest. (Some animals are slightly stressed in a boarding situation.) You may also provide your pet’s normal food.
