We may be a little biased, but we think our doctors are some of the best! With over 65 years of experience among them, and a dedication to continuing education, we are able to offer 21st century veterinary medicine -- even in rural Vermont.
DR. PAULA YANKAUSKAS, OWNER/VETERINARIAN
The driving force behind L.V.V.S., Dr. Paula Yankauskas founded the practice in August of 1985. The biggest project since the inception of L.V.V.S. was the new building completed in the fall of 1998. Prior to starting her own practice, Dr. Yankauskas gained experience at two mixed animal practices in Vermont.
Dr. Yankauskas and her husband Dale have three children: Sarah, Jacob and Dorigen. The family animals (a dog and multiple cats, birds and other critters) keep their family pretty busy. In her free time, she is an open water swimming enthusiast and softball player. An L.V.V.S. sky watcher, Dr. Yankauskas shares her love of celestial objects with her family and is a frequent visitor to the Fairbanks Museum.
DR. VALERIE A. YANKAUSKAS, ASSOCIATE VETERINARIAN
Dr. Val Yankauskas has been with us the longest, second only to her sister Dr. Paula Yankausas. Trained down south (in Kentucky for her undergraduate degree and in Alabama for Veterinary School) she returned to the North to join L.V.V.S.
Dr. Val Yankauskas is owned by two cats (Foolish and Chester) and a dog (Jordan). Jordan gets to enjoy frequent playdates with two of her siblings - they are owned by Dr. Cindy Pratt and her husband.
An avid outdoorswoman, Dr. Val Yankauskas spends her days off swimming, hiking, biking and snowshoeing.
DR. CINDY PRATT, ASSOCIATE VETERINARIAN
Dr. Pratt joined L.V.V.S. in the spring of 1999. A graduate from the University of Missouri, Columbia, College of Veterinary Medicine, she worked at a mixed animal veterinary practice in Tehachapi, California before joining L.V.V.S.. Dr. Pratt's veterinary interests include reproduction, ophthalmology and pocket pets. She has also completed the training program offered by Synbiotics Canine Reproduction Network and is a member of the Synbiotics Referral Network.
