We may be a little biased, but we think our doctors are some of the best!  With years of experience and a dedication to continuing education, we are able to offer 21st century veterinary medicine - even in rural Vermont!

The biggest project since the inception of L.V.V.S. was the new building completed in the fall of 1998. Prior to starting her own practice, Dr. Yankauskas gained experience at two mixed animal practices in Vermont.

Dr. Yankauskas and her husband Dale have three children: Sarah, Jacob and Dorigen. The family animals (a dog and multiple cats, birds and other critters) keep their family pretty busy. In her free time, she is an open water swimming enthusiast and softball player. An L.V.V.S. sky watcher, Dr. Yankauskas shares her love of celestial objects with her family and is a frequent visitor to the Fairbanks Museum.

Trained down south (in Kentucky for her undergraduate degree and in Alabama for Veterinary School) she returned to the north to join L.V.V.S.

Dr. Val Yankauskas is owned by two cats - Foolish and Chester.  Both were abandoned and worked their way into Dr. Val Yankauskas' heart - and home.  A dog named Jordan gets to enjoy frequent playdates with two of her siblings - they are owned by Dr. Cindy Pratt and her husband!

An avid outdoorswoman, Dr. Val Yankauskas spends her days off swimming in a 14 acre pond behind her house, hiking, biking and snowshoeing. She also enjoys music;  trying her hand at guitar and singing with the Mountain Choraleers.
