Anesthesia

Many pet owners are terrified by the thought of their pet undergoing anesthesia. In some cases, this fear and uncertainty can prevent pets from receiving the medical care they need and deserve. Rest assured that your pet will receive safe, comprehensive, advanced anesthesia care from our staff of caring professionals. From major and minor surgeries to diagnostic procedures, we can meet your pet’s anesthetic needs.

There is nothing more important to us than your pet’s safety, so we perform a variety of pre-anesthetic tests to carefully screen patients and tailor our anesthetic protocol specifically for your pet. Our trained staff and doctors monitor your pet before, during, and after anesthesia to help ensure the best possible outcome. We also take time to answer any questions or address any concerns you may have about the medications, monitoring, and care your pet will receive. When you trust our dedicated health care professionals to manage your pet’s anesthetic care, you can rest assured that safety, efficacy, and comfort are always foremost in our minds.

Boarding

Boarding is available on a limited basis as we are a veterinary hospital first and priority for kenneling is given to our patients.

We have two spacious wards for boarding - one for cats and one for dogs (the cats, in particular, seem to appreciate not having to share space with dogs). Our around-the-clock staffing means your pets are never alone.

CATS
Cats are roomed in our sunny cat room. Extra large kennels as well as a multi-level cat condo are available for an extra charge and on a first reserved, first served basis.

Cats who board must to be up-to-date on Feline Distemper and Rabies vaccinations. All boarders receive a flea check on admission and are treated with a flea adulticide if needed.

DOGS
Dogs are roomed in our large dog ward. Two indoor "runs" are available for an extra charge and on a first reserved, first served basis. Dogs who board must be up-to-date on Canine Distemper, Kennel Cough and Rabies vaccinations.

All boarders receive a flea check on admission and are treated with a flea adulticide if needed. Dogs are exercised individually on leash within a fenced yard to ensure their safety.

For both cats and dogs, housemates (of the same species) may board in the same kennel, however we reserve the right to separate any pairs who may decide that they have had a little too much togetherness!

We serve a prescription diet to our boarders, designed to be easy to digest. (Some animals are slightly stressed in a boarding situation.) Kittens and puppies are fed age appropriate diets. You may also provide your pet's normal food or, if it is a brand we carry, we can dispense the food from the LVVS Pet Food & Supply Center.

Surgery

We offer the most advanced surgical techniques and technology. All patients are carefully screened for safety, and anesthetics are specifically tailored to your pet. Surgical services and facilities include: fully trained veterinary and technical staff, to ensure the safest, most efficient, state-of-the-art procedures for your pet; heated surgery tables for greater comfort; advanced sterilization techniques; ECG and oxygen saturation monitors; intensive after surgery care and full blood testing.

Testimonials

Feedback from our clients

  • ""I absolutely love LVVS. I have been going here for years, ever since the last vet we had gave my dog a serious injury from jabbing him with a needle. They are always kind, gentle, and make going to the vet as stress free for my animals as possible. I always recommend them to new pet owners near me and will continue to do so.""
    Corey B.
  • ""Love their low-stress handling techniques, the specialty interests of the different Vets, and the can-do attitude! I felt at-ease leaving my dog overnight prior to a minor surgery, and she was in great shape when she came home! Also like that they're in the 21st century with online appointment and confirmation functions! Keep up the excellent work!""
